Resonanz.

The practice

A space begins acting on people before
they understand what they’re looking at.

Resonanz works on that conviction. Long before the menu arrives, the treatment starts, the performance begins: the room has already made its argument.

The practice grew out of a decade designing residential, commercial, cultural and speculative spaces, and from a persistent observation: the brief underneath the brief is always emotional. Clients ask for materials and layouts; what they need is a feeling that survives contact with reality.

Resonanz works wherever the experience of a space is inseparable from its purpose: through spatial experience assessments that reveal what a space is already communicating, through design that gives that experience form, and through writing that treats the emotional life of spaces as a discipline rather than a garnish.

Rooms, like reviews, say different things depending on who’s listening.
Resonanz happens to work in five languages.

“Every space that has stayed with me carried a conviction.
Design, for me, is the craft of giving that conviction form.”
